The day is gorgeous. When I think of what I’d rather be doing on a glorious Saturday afternoon, it would not include going to work at a Chinese eatery. It’s not the most glamorous of jobs, but sometimes it pays well. The sun is shining, finally. It has been raining all month, Vitamin D was scarce throughout the southern half of the state. This just feels like a bunch of random thoughts… That’s because it is.
Yesterday was my last day of finals, therefore ending my first year of college. It was stressful. The parties were rednecks going in their trucks to the backwoods to get drunk, I didn’t attend beacuse, well, you have to be a redneck in order to go. Papers, homework, professors that either wanted you to call them Dr. or their nickname, were a constant this semester. I worked on the college newspaper staff, which was the best experience of college thus far. I love to write, good thing I’m majoring in journalism (according to Newsweek, journalism is number one for being the most useless of college majors, along with horticulture and chemistry).
I have been very stressed. Working three jobs and having to go to classes kind of wore me down. Thank God for three months of hard earned summer vacation.
To all of those who work their butts off and are underappreciated, know that your hard work will pay off, one day.
Well, it’s time for work. Another day, another dollar.
